Black Bean, Green Olive Hummus

Well the new kitchen is finally done. well all except for the floor, that’s later this month. As promised, I have made a batch of ‘hummus’ and attached the recipe. Of course, as with any recipe, it’s a guide. The ingredients list is just what I had on hand this time around. Don’t be anal.  If you don’t have a Cuisinart, try a blender, or do it by hand. (maybe reverse that) Use a potatoe smasher, a small child, It doesn’t matter. just have fun and most of all, enjoy.

-for the record, had I understood the awesomeness that is a Cuisinart, we would have had one when we were broke and first got married. Skip lunch, cut the coffee, rob an old lady, just get one.

  2. Blend/mix/pulverize/what have you, until it’s liquefied. It will be about the consistency of runny refried beans.
  3. Pour contents into a nonstick pot. While consistently stirring, heat on high for about 5 minutes. You are evaporating the excess liquid out, as well as helping the flavors blend and with any luck adding a bit of flavor from a few bits that get burned.
  4. Pour contents into a fancy container and serve or toss it in the fridge and use instead of butter, or just put in on everything.
