I made this up in high school after watching my mom waste a LOT of ingredients trying to make a teriyaki sauce. Which was TERRIBLE and I made her dump before I pushed her aside.
Sweet and Tart Marinade Recipe
- YIELD: 6 breasts (6 Servings)
I made this up in high school after watching my mom waste a LOT of ingredients trying to make a teriyaki sauce. Which was TERRIBLE and I made her dump before I pushed her aside.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 TB liquid smoke
- 20 oz crushed pineapple fruit and juice
- 1 TB white vinegar (I might do rice wine vinegar next time I make this)
- 1 TB red wine vinegar
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 TB soy sauce
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 TB garlic powder
- 1/2 cup flour
Instructions
- Mix all except flour in a large container
- Marinade 6 boneless skinless chicken breasts in the mixture for at least 6 hours
- Grill the chicken over a low flame until just under done. While it is cooking, simmer the marinade on the stove, adding flour to thicken.
- Place the chicken in a shallow pan and pour the thickened sauce over it. Bake at 300° for 15 minutes.
